The Paulden Area Community Organization (PACO) is bringing a Circus on April 27 2013 (shows at 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.).

We will be selling tickets up on till the morning of the Circus on the 27. Tickets will be sold at Paulden Post Office, Paulden Community Center(Fire Hall), and Safeway in Chino Valley. They will be sold at local business around Chino and Prescott and Prescott Valley. The price for advance tickets cost $10 for teens and adults or tickets cost $13 at the gate; for children 2-12 and seniors 65 and older advance tickets cost $6 or cost $7 at the gate. Parents can ask about the advance ticket “gifting” program for children’s tickets. A portion of the advance ticket sales benefits PACO. We provides monthly public meetings with information that affects Paulden residents, including elections, water resources, area health and safety, re-zoning proposals and provide a voice for Paulden residents in local municipality, county, state and federal agency meetings. PACO also contributes to charitable organizations and provides scholarships to local students, as well as organizing fun activities, such as the annual Picnic, Annual Holiday Dinner in Paulden. So, PACO organizers hope people will buy advance tickets rather than waiting to buy tickets at the gate.

For advance tickets, call PACO at 928-636-9275 or 636-0620 or e-mail to plnareacommorg@gmail.com. PACO also needs volunteers for Circus set-up, parking attendants, circus lot clean-up and Community Center clean-up.

Wayne Loughrige, 51, and his son Joseph Arter, 17, were killed late Friday afternoon in a single-vehicle collision on southbound State Highway 69 at milepost 277 between Humboldt and Poland Junction roads in the Dewey- Humboldt area.

Department of Public Safetyofficials said a 2005 Dodge Durango driven by Wayne, who was off-duty, drifted into the center median, overcorrected, and lost control before colliding with an embankment along the right side of the roadway.

Both Loughrige and Arter, who was a passenger in the car, suffered severe trauma from the collision and were pronounced dead at the scene, said Dwight D’Evelyn, YCSO spokesman.

Loughrige and Arter had been wearing their seatbelts and there is no indication that vehicle speed or driver impairment were factors in the accident, D’Evelyn added.

“YCSO personnel are devastated by this tragic death involving Wayne and his son,” D’Evelyn said. “Sheriff Scott Mascher has been meeting with YCSO employees throughout the afternoon and evening to brief them on the tragedy.”

Two CYFD engines, two Mayer Fire engines, two Life Line Ambulances, and Arizona Department of Public Safety officers responded to the scene, Central Yavapai Fire District Battalion Chief Jeff Polacek said.

DPS will be handling the accident investigation.

“DPS understands the sensitivity of these types of cases,” said DPS Officer Carrick R. Cook, public information officer. “We’re very diligent and deliberate in our investigation so the family can have all the details that led up to the deaths of their loved ones.”

Mascher expressed his appreciation for the concern and care of DPS officers who handled the accident scene and reporting, D’Evelyn said.

Wayne began his career with YCSO as a detention officer in 1991, was promoted to certified deputy, and became patrol sergeant in 1998.

Loughrige is a 21-year law enforcement veteran. He married his wife Kristine in October 2012.

Loughrige’s current assignment as Northern Area Command Patrol Commander was the result of a 2007 promotion. His office was located at the Williamson Valley sub-station.

Together , somehow, everyone in this tiny rural Community in North Central Arizona, along with Paulden Churches United, joined together and faithfully pushed on to make this Thanksgiving/Christmas Holiday Season one to always remember. Paulden children will participate and perform. Many surprises will be given away to lucky children Invite your friends from Prescott, Prescott Valley, Chino and Ask Fork to come and join you for this wonderful Christmas Celebration.
